Beyond Notability: Public and Professional Activities

Public and Professional Activities (PPA) are work-like activities that people participated as part of their public and profession lives. This category diverges from Wikidata, where the relationship between an individual and work is defined by the institution(s) to which they are employed.

PPA was the result of a project meeting in March 2022 to resolve issues around recording work-like activities. He agreed to create active formulations of activities with labels/descriptions in the past tense. The initial list of PPAs were as follows:

  • held position (P17)
  • spoke at (P23)
  • held position (free text) (P48)
  • was donor of (P65)
  • was donor of (free text) (P66)
  • was delegate at (item) (P71)
  • delegate at (free text) (P72)
  • corresponded with (P73)
  • was fellow of (P75)
  • collaborated with / contributed to (P83)
  • founded (P85)
  • loaner to (P87)
  • illustrated in (P89)
  • served on (P102)
  • employed as (P105)
  • fundraiser for (P106)
  • published with (P107)

This list may not be up to date, so before creating a public and professional activity item, check for pages that link to "Item:667" "Public and Professional Activity" and if the proposed new PPA is sufficiently generic.
