Ramsay arranged for the exploration and excavation of a cave close to her home Kildalton House, supplying a labourer and arranging for William Stevenson to superintend the work. Arthur Mitchell later used her notes on the work and those of Stevenson to write about the excavation findings in the Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (1898) (English)
