Miss L. A. Law is possibly Louisa Augusta Law, daughter of Robert Vanburgh Law, one time rector of Christian Malford, Wiltshire. In her 1900 article "Death Customs in Wiltshire", she refers to her father as "rector of a remote Wiltshire village some thirty or forty years ago". (English)
