note: Chitty identified a ring-motte north-east of Amaston Farm, Alberbury. Also found a dug-out canoe at Ironbridge, 7ft deep in clay, made after the middle of the nineteenth century by the sons of the late John Anstice, Esq, of Madeley Wood Hall. (English)
