a set of trenchers (British English)
The meeting minute describes the meeting's display as: a fine series of sets of trenchers, probably the largest number of these curious relics ever before exhibited together. (British English)
Baker was one of a group exhibitors at this meeting, and the only woman. The Society's Proceedings for this meeting date describe the twelve wooden trenchers she exhibited in more detail. (British English)
