Mrs Anderson sought the Society's help in persuading LNER to build the new station as a model of the town's medieval castle. The Society's Executive Committee felt such a reproduction would be "undesirable". (English)
It seems likely that the Mrs Anderson referred to here is Mrs Edith Anderson, a member of the Berwickshire Naturalists' Club in 1916. (English)
